Christmas is in the air…at The Right Slice, Kaua’i Fresh Pies

I hope your hearts and bellies were filled to the brim over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Much Mahalos to all who ordered pies or who came in and grabbed a pie on the run over the Thanksgiving pie holiday.  This was our first year of baking overnight to be sure we filled everyone’s pie orders!  Our staff really stepped up and pulled together, even being shorthanded, and made it all happen!  Much much mahalos to Jay, Kelly, I’Kona and Alan who worked overnight with Baker Sandy to get the job done.  Much Mahalos to our hard working store staff, Rhonda, Kylie and Maria as well for making sure you got your delicious pies out the door!  And of course we could not have gotten it all done without our support staff, Mahalos to Marla, our dough queen, Larry, our songster/delivery guy and to Romeo for making sure our pots pans and mixing bowls were cleaned and ready for the next batch!

This was a terrific year, our biggest Thanksgiving yet.  We couldn’t be here without you, our customers.  Much Much Mahalos again!

Did you see some of the fun pics of our overnight baking on our Facebook pages?  If not, be sure to check us out at TheRightSlice or TheRightSliceKalaheo to stay up to date on today’s flavors, events and other pie happenings.

Now…after some rest and rejuvenation, we are ready to take on our next challenge.  Christmas!  The past two years you have overwhelmed us with a Christmas holiday that has been equal to our Thanksgiving holiday…so we are all eating our Wheaties, getting our beauty rest so we are ready and raring to go!

Here are some important dates to remember about the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s pie ordering deadlines and hours:

Our last day accepting orders for the Christmas holiday is Saturday, December 19th at 6 pm.  Please note this is several days earlier than last year.  We need to make sure we can get all of our ingredients in from our farmers and wholesalers…so plan ahead!  Of course, as always we will have extra pies on hand for those who forget.  We got you covered!

You can pick up your pies at Kukui’ula Culinary Market Wednesday December 23rd from 3:30-6…please be sure to order flavors that can stay well until the Friday holiday!

Our Lihue location at Harbor Mall will be open Christmas Eve from 11-2 pm.  Please be mindful of her opening hours.  Rhonda is manning the store on her own this year, due to our short-handedness…so be patient!

You can pick up your pies a bit later in Kalaheo, from 11-4 pm.

We will then be closed at BOTH retail locations through the weekend, reopening on Monday, December 28th.  While we will not be attending the Friday Hanapepe Art Night on Christmas Day, you will find us there the following week, on New Year’s Day.

Since we are talking holidays lets talk a bit about New Year’s.  We have gotten a lot of New Year’s Eve orders in the past.  Much Mahalos for everyone for including us in your holiday plans.  We are also excited to see the trend of you picking up pot pies on New Year’s Eve to eat New Year’s Day…when you might not be quite up to cooking.  😉  Please feel free to place your pot pie order in advance this year, so we can have them ready and waiting for you.  This will help move the line along a bit quicker for everyone.

Don’t forget the great Value Packs for your New Year’s pot pies…Our Ohana Pack is 4 pot pies with organic greens or a baby pie for dessert, and our Picnic Pack is 2 pot pies, 2 slices of pie and 2 drinks.  Can’t beat it!

Our Lihue location will be open 11-2 on New Year’s Eve, and our Kalaheo location will again be open 11-4.  Because the holidays fell near the weekend this year, we decided to also give our staff the extra days to relax and reflect on the coming year with their family and friends.  We will be closing both of our locations through the weekend, reopening on Monday, January 4th.

If you can’t last that long without your pie fix, you will be happy to know we will be attending the Hanapepe Art Night on Friday, January 1st.  Stop up and visit Baker Rhonda from 5-9 for hot n ready pot pies and lots of sweet slices!

We hope you continue to have safe and happy holidays as 2015 comes to an end.  Thank you again, for all of your support and understanding as we settled into our two new locations in 2015.  We are excited to be planning lots of great pie treats for 2016!

Aloha!
