National Pie Day: Why This One Always Feels Like Home to Us
National Pie Day might sound like a made-up holiday, but when your days are built around flour-dusted counters and warm ovens, it feels pretty meaningful. Pie has a long history of bringing people together, and here on Kauaʻi, that tradition feels especially strong.
Pie isn’t flashy food. It’s practical, generous, and meant to be shared. It shows up at celebrations, quiet evenings, potlucks, and holidays often without much fanfare. That’s part of what we love about it. Pie doesn’t ask for attention; it earns it.
For us, National Pie Day isn’t about doing anything differently. It’s about honoring the work we do everyday baking from scratch, taking care with our ingredients, and feeding our community the best way we know how. If you stop by the bakery or see us at the market this week, just know we’re celebrating the same way we always do one pie at a time.
