Closing Out March with Gratitude

Mar 28, 2026

March has a way of moving quickly. Visitors rotate in and out. Spring break energy comes and goes. The trade winds shift. And through it all, the ovens stay steady.

Running a small island bakery isn’t glamorous it’s early alarms, flour-dusted aprons, and consistency day after day. It’s checking fruit ripeness before sunrise. It’s watching crust color carefully. It’s knowing your regulars by name and remembering their usual order. Those small, quiet details are what build something lasting.

Every pie that leaves the counter carries more than ingredients. It carries time, effort, and trust. Trust that it will show up at someone’s dinner table. Trust that it will be part of a birthday, a beach picnic, a family Sunday, or just a well-earned treat after a long week.

March brought canyon drives, beach sunsets, slow Sundays, and market mornings. It brought new visitors discovering us for the first time and loyal locals walking through the door like they always do. That balance new and familiar is what keeps a small business alive on Kauaʻi.

As we head toward April, we’re grateful. Grateful for this community. Grateful for the chance to do this work. Grateful that pie still has a place at the center of the table.

What was your favorite March flavor?
And what are you hoping to see on the menu next month?
