Cinco de Mayo: Local Style

May 5, 2026

Cinco de Mayo on Kauai doesn’t look like it does on the mainland and that’s the fun of it. Around here, we mix cultures, flavors, and traditions into something that feels like home. While the holiday marks a Mexican victory, locals celebrate it more as a day to gather, eat well, and enjoy bold flavors. Backyard grills fire up, friends drop by unannounced, and the food. It’s always the star.

We’re bringing in some savory inspiration today:
🔥 Elote Pot Pie sweet corn, creamy, a little spice, totally addictive
🔥 Beef & Bean Burrito Pot Pie hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor

It’s not traditional but it’s exactly what Kauai does best: take something good and make it our own. If you’ve been here long enough, you know food on this island tells a story of many cultures coming together. Today’s just another delicious chapter.
