The Right Slice, Kaua’i Fresh Pies has the BEST customers!!!

Mar 2, 2010

Last week was of course a whirlwind for us here at The Right Slice.  Friday’s Hanapepe Art Night was a huge success…had a great turn out and beautiful weather!  Thanks to all who came by for a slice of Kaua’i Fresh Pie!

Saturday….was eventful…just not in the way we had anticipated here at The Right Slice.  Tsunami warnings put the kabosh on our Saturday KCC Farmer’s Market in Lihue….oh no….what to do with all of those fresh baked pies!?!?!?  Well…thanks to an enterprising friend, we headed down to Old Koloa Town Ballpark and shared our pies with the many displaced tourists who had to evacuate their resorts and hotels.  WOW!  Saved us from having a TON of homeless pies!

On other exciting news…we here at The Right Slice had our photo in the local Garden Island Newspaper last week!  Yippee!  Thanks Andy and Joy for hooking us up!  Very exciting news for us…AND we were lucky enough to meet several new customers at Friday’s Art Night thanks to the photo!

Speaking of GREAT customers….I just have to share this great e-mail I received from Brian D in Vancouver:

Subject line:  Best. Pie. EVER!

I know the above three words of the subject line are probably a familiar mantra heard by you guys, but seriously: take them to heart!
Myself and four friends had the pleasure of indulging (the word feels like an understatement) in your pies at last Fridays Hanapepe Art Walk, and to be honest, we’ve obsessed about the pies ever since.
We’ve since returned home to cold, rainy Vancouver Canada (arrived this morning), but the memory of such fantastic (!!!) creations as the mango lilikoi, or the macadamia pies have helped us carry a bit of the island sunshine home.

Please take this compliment from a group of foodies who are almost always hyper-critical.  We try something new and say “so-and-so does ‘x’ better”, or “if I were to make it, I would’ve…”.  There was none of that posturing from anyone.  Just the word “Piiiiiie” spoken dreamily and longingly, from mouths frozen in a perma-grin.

I wish you all the success in the world, and hope to be able to splurge to obtain one of the beauties sometime in the not-too-distant future!

All the best,
Brian D

A BIG BIG Mahalo to Brian and his crew from Vancouver!  I can’ t wait to see you again on your next visit….who knows….we may just have a nice little pie shop for you to visit!  😉  Stay warm and dry in the meantime!

I know I say this all of the time, but Much Mahalos!  We couldn’t and wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for the HUGE support, suggestions, feedback and praise from you….our valued customers!  Enjoy your pie….and don’t forget…life’s short…EAT DESSERT FIRST!

Aloha!

Sandy
