Pie Shipping Testers Needed

It has been a long several years since we have been able to send Kauai Fresh Baked Pies to your door, but we are happy to announce that we are working on testing some new shipping options!

We currently have 3 flavors we are testing:

Paradise Pie: which is Macadamia Nuts, Coconut and fresh Pineapple in a gooey filling, similar to a pecan pie texture.

Macadamia Nut Pie:  Ooey gooey, similar to pecan pie filling, but with local macadamia nuts!

Chocolate Coconut Macaroon: Similar in flavor to a macaroon cookie, Toasted coconut on the bottom, chocolate ganache in the middle and a coconut custard on the top

We have been working on this for quite a while, since UPS, our former shipper, is no longer guaranteeing 2 day air shipping.  We will now be using USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail.

We baked a bunch of test pies and flew them over to Oahu for lab testing.  What the lab results showed us is these three flavors are excellent stored at room temperature for up to 2 1/2 weeks!  Yay!  That means we can send them to you flat rate, which is 3-5 day shipping, and you still have nearly 2 weeks to enjoy!  It also means even if the mailman misplaces your pie for a few days, you will still have plenty of time to enjoy it!

What is also means….is once we finish testing, and are ready to place orders you will need to PLAN AHEAD and consider the length of time USPS Flat Rate shipping takes.  We will not be able to refund for delays of USPS.   So if you are going to plan for a special occasion, the sooner you order the better.

It also means, as I am sure you know….that there could possibly be some damage to the pies in transit.  Each pie will be individually vacuum sealed to help protect it, but they will be roaming wild in their boxes, with some small padding, so a little cracked crust won’t be grounds for a refund.  Also, USPS does not guarantee food items, so when placing an order, there will be a little risk involved, as if it is delayed, they will refund your shipping cost, but not the cost of the pie itself.  It is not the perfect solution to our shipping woes, but it is a temporary step forward!

Here is how testing volunteering will work…

oh so yummy and rich and gooey to boot!

We need volunteers!

If you would like to volunteer, please know there will be homework!  Volunteers will be asked to make a $50 refundable deposit via Paypal.  Once your homework is returned, you will receive a full refund.

If you would like to volunteer, please email us at Info@RightSlice.com with the following info:

Name and Shipping Address, as well as Email and Phone Number

Last time you visited our shop.

The first time you met our fearless leader, Sandy.

Your favorite Right Slice pie flavor.

Why we should choose you as a taste tester.

Your favorite color.

We will randomly be choosing volunteers throughout the next few weeks and will contact you IF you are chosen.  Please do not call the bakery to ask if you have been chosen.  We are still running short staffed and don’t have time for that.  It is a sure way to get put at the bottom of the list.  lol

We are so excited to move back towards shipping and are excited to hear what our testers have to say!  Test shipments will begin in the next week or two.

I would love to help out!
I met Sandy through my daughter Jen and her wife Anne at a brunch in Lihue. Wish you much success!
    I’m a major pie lover!
Often return to restaurants by the pies they offer! Its about the crust and of course fillings must be fresh and well paired so this is a great challenge for me!

It has been waaay too long since Kauai…Sept 2019. Had to go to Maui for weddings the last 2 yrs and never made it to Kauai. Been to the shop, not sure if we met Sandy though! Favorite pies we’ve had at Kalaheo are tangelo and lilikoi/mango. Blueberry (with ginger maybe?) also. So good. Favorite color…emerald green. We are from NorCal…so much rain here and tasting your amazing pie will lift everyone’s spirits! Thanks for the opportunity…much appreciated!!

    Aloha,
I visited your store a few days ago and enjoyed the mango lillokoi and macadamia nut pie. I am returning to Southern California Sunday. I would happy to be a product tester after shipping and can provide any feedback, photos and detailed assessment of the product.

I would love to be a taste tester for your Paradise Cake and/or chocolate cake. I was a frequent taste tester for a fast food company when I worked there years ago and would love to assist you in any way that I can. I have not tasted your pies but I know what tastes good and would love to offer an unbiased opinion. My favorite color is blue or purple like the orchid.
