Tomorrow, December 7, marks Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day — a day of deep reflection here in Hawaiʻi and across the country. Even from our quiet corner of Kalaheo, we feel the weight of this history and the responsibility to honor it with sincerity.
We pause to remember the lives lost on that morning in 1941, the families forever changed, and the courage shown by so many. We also honor the kūpuna whose stories continue to guide us — their resilience, their sacrifices, and their commitment to peace.

Honolulu, HI / USA – January 27, 2020: The U.S. flag flies above the beautiful USS Arizona Memorial Monument at Pearl Harbor. The memorial opened in 1962 and was designed by Alfred Preis.
It’s not a day for marketing or celebration. It’s a day for listening. For learning. For holding space. For gratitude.
To everyone connected to this history, whether through family, service, or place — we hold you in our hearts today and always.
