Some mornings in Kalaheo, the whole hillside smells like cinnamon before we even unlock the front door. That’s when we know December has arrived — the month when our ovens never really cool down and our little bakery becomes a gathering place for families stocking up for the holidays.

December is a special time on Kauaʻi. The trade winds turn a little cooler, sunset comes earlier, and everyone seems to move with a mix of excitement and gentle aloha. Here at The Right Slice, we’re already rolling dough, prepping fruit, and checking our butter supply twice… just like Santa, but stickier.
All month long, we’ll be sharing stories from the bakery — from our behind-the-scenes prep to our favorite community traditions. And yes, we’ll remind you lovingly (and more than once!) about our Christmas order deadline: Friday, December 19 at 6pm, our Christmas Eve hours: 11–4, and that we’re closed Christmas Day so our team can enjoy time with their own ʻohana.
Here’s to a month filled with pie, aloha, and the joy of sharing good food with the people we love. Thanks for welcoming December with us.
