Aloha in Action: Mahalo for Supporting Kauaʻi

Sep 15, 2026

As our island continues to recover from Hurricane Lowell, we want to take a moment to simply say mahalo. For some, life may be starting to feel a little more normal again. For others, the effects of the storm may continue for quite some time. There is still cleanup to be done, repairs to be made, and people in our community who could use a helping hand. We know that everyone’s experience with the storm has been different, and our hearts are with all those who have been affected. One thing that has been especially meaningful to us during this time has been seeing just how many people wanted to help.

To all of our customers, friends, and supporters both here on Kauaʻi and far away thank you for your incredible generosity. So many of you reached out, donated, shared information, checked in, and asked what you could do to support our community. Some of you may live thousands of miles away, but your love for Kauaʻi was felt right here at home. Every donation, every helping hand, every phone call, every message, and every act of kindness has meant something.

We also want to recognize our first responders, emergency workers, utility crews, volunteers, local organizations, businesses, and community members who have been working to help others during the storm and throughout the recovery. Many people have quietly stepped in wherever they were needed, and we are incredibly grateful.

Living and owning a small business on Kauaʻi, we are fortunate to see the meaning of community every day. But during difficult times, you see it in an entirely different way. You see neighbors checking on neighbors. You see people sharing what they have. You see businesses helping one another. And you see people who may not even know each other coming together because someone needs help. That is aloha in action.

We know the recovery from Hurricane Lowell isn’t finished simply because the storm has passed. There may still be people who need support in the days and weeks ahead, and we hope we can continue looking out for one another as our island moves forward.

From all of us at The Right Slice, thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, reached out, or found a way to help. Whether Kauaʻi is your home or a place that holds a special piece of your heart, your kindness and generosity have meant more than you may ever know. We are incredibly grateful to be part of this community.

Mahalo nui loa for taking care of Kauaʻi and taking care of one another.
