WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PIE?

There’s one question we get asked all the time: “What’s your favorite?” You would think people who spend their days surrounded by pie would have an immediate answer. Nope. It’s actually one of the hardest questions you can ask us! The answer can change depending on the day, the weather, your mood, or sometimes just what you happen to see when you walk up to the pie case. Some days you want something rich, chocolatey, and completely indulgent. Other days, something bright and tart sounds perfect. Maybe you’re in the mood for tropical flavors like lilikoi or coconut, the kind of flavors that just feel right here on Kaua‘i. And every once in a while, nothing beats a simple, familiar favorite. That’s why standing in front of our pie case can turn into a surprisingly serious decision. We watch it happen all the time. Someone walks through the door completely confident and says, “I’m just getting one slice.” Then they start looking. They ask us about one flavor, then another. They look at the case again. There’s a little more thinking, and somehow, a few minutes later, we’re ringing up three slices. Do we point this out? Absolutely not. We’re professionals.  Besides, we understand and our philosophy is pretty simple: If you can’t decide between two flavors, that’s probably your brain’s way of telling you to get both.

One of our favorite things about having so many regular customers is that we start learning their favorites, too. Some people love trying something different every time they visit. They want to know what’s new, what’s in the case today, and what they haven’t tried yet. Then we have the loyalists. You know who you are. You walk through the door already knowing exactly what you’re getting, and please don’t even try suggesting another flavor. The decision has been made. We respect that kind of pie commitment. So today, we’re turning the question around and asking all of you: What is your FAVORITE pie from The Right Slice? But there’s a catch you can only choose ONE. No ties.
